Hi all !
Recently, a family member gave me an assembled radio engineer kit. When powering on, I found out that this radio was so sensitive, I could easily pick up radio sations from far away, without any external antenna or earth connections.
It seems that this radio engineer kit is more sensitive then the radio circuit from the EE2003, although the circuit is a bit the same
Any idea how this comes ?
Could it be the use of Germanium transistors ?
I will try to post some pictures this weekend.
You can find the assembly manual with schematic here : http://www.hansotten.com/uploads/philip ... gineer.pdf

Re: Philips radio engineer
Hi all,
This afhernoon, I've rebuild the radio circuit from the radio Engineer on a EE series platform.
for this purpose, I've used the same components and this radio is a true performer.
I've uploaded a movie on my you tube channel. You can find it here : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QmJXARk ... tube_gdata
Can anyone on this forum do the same experiment to share some experiences ?
I've also included hereby a picture of the Radio Engineer kit.
Greetings
