4 NE555
4 NE555
Behind the 4th door there is the precision timer NE555.
A soldering iron, soldering tin, and file for the circuit board are also needed.
Now, it is time to assemble the circuit board.
For Kosmos Elektronik and Philips EE please note the differences.
At the exit (Out, Pin 3), you connect the LED and a pre-resistor.
The two ports Tri (Pin 2) and Thr (Pin 6) are connected with wires whose other side remains unconnected.
After the battery gets connected, the LED could light up or remain dark; this outcome is random.
Touch the two unconnected wires with your fingers multiple times.
This is how you can turn the LED on and off again.
Without another touch, the last state of the LED gets saved because the NE555 contains a Flipflop,
that is a circuit with two stable states.
If the simple touching of the wires shows no success at first,
you may also briefly hold the unconnected wires to the positive pole (off) or the negative pole (on).
Or you can switch between touching the negative or the positive pole of the battery with your other hand.
